Carl has been coaching with Sand & Surf for seven years and now serves as the Director of Coaching. He has coached many teams in many age groups, and is especially proud of arranging and taking the B1998 team to Ireland in the summer of 2017. Carl is a familiar face in the South Bay soccer community, having launched P.S. Soccer and other camps, coaching at Mira Costa High School and West High School. He currently works with AYSO Region 34 (South Redondo) as the Director of Training for their Extra teams. He spent two years at MCU, during which time the collegiate team won two conference titles and reached the Final 4 of the National Championship. Carl is currently the program lead for Marlborough School in LA. Carl was born in Ireland and now resides in Redondo Beach with his wife Ashley.

Stephen is a former Division 2 college goalkeeper at Cal State Los Angeles, where he was an assistant coach for 4 years. He helped Cal State LA to a 41-11-10 record and three NCAA tournament appearances during his college career, winning a Far West Regional Championship in 2014. Currently Stephen is at Marymount California University as an Assistant Coach. Stephen holds an "A" License through US Soccer (US Soccer’s highest coaching credential) as well as a USSF Goalkeeper Diploma.

Sam is a native of Wigan, England and is starting his second year with Sand and Surf. Sam Played for the Youth Academies of Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic before moving to the US to play in college. Sam played at the University of Rio Grande (OH) and then Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (FL) where he was named an All-American. Sam has been coaching for 9 years and has experience coaching College, Professional Academy, High School, Club Soccer and Rec Soccer.

Matt grew up in Edina, Minnesota where he played soccer, football and was captain of the chess team. While he had opportunities to play collegiate soccer he decided to kick for the St. John's University football team in Collegeville, Minnesota where he double majored in Peace Studies and Philosophy. He started coaching in his hometown around 10 years ago, and went on to coach at the club level in Minnesota before moving to California. He is also excited about moving his company called Exercise in Compassion LLC (which teaches an imagination-based soccer, yoga and mindfulness at preschools) to the South Bay.

Born and raised in Fresno, CA, Liam played college soccer for Fresno City and Cal Poly Pomona. As soon as his playing career was over, Liam immediately began coaching back home in Fresno. After 3 years coaching high school, college, and travel soccer in Fresno, Liam moved to Los Angeles to further his coaching career. Along with leading multiple Sand & Surf teams, Liam is currently on the coaching staff at YULA High School and acts as UK International's Program Manager in Santa Monica (AYSO Region 20).

Kayde grew up in San Diego, where she played club soccer for San Diego Surf and the ODP program. She then played Division 1 soccer on a full scholarship at UC Riverside, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Sports Journalism. Kayde was also the Big West Conference Player of the year; a member of the Olympic Development Program, and has experience of playing internationally in Germany and Sweden.

Coach Aaron is originally from Bournemouth, England. Aaron has been in the United States since 2015, and involved in coaching the game since 2010. Aaron's playing experience includes representing his state team, and playing for Portsmouth academy. Aaron is also currently the head coach of Marlborough's Middle School soccer team.

Kevin Lopes was born and raised in France, his coaching career began 10 years ago with his former Club Annecy FC, where he also used to play as a semi professional player (CFA2). Kevin moved to Los Angeles 6 years ago to study at Santa Monica college and had the chance to practice with the LA Galaxy before his previous US visa had ended. Kevin is a motivated student of the global game and has developed a strong reputation among players, parents, and his peers as a committed and talented developer of youth talent. His coaching program is based on possession-based soccer development with a French emphasis. Kevin also now play as a Street Soccer player and Member of “Bola”, the first US street Soccer team to represent USA at the WorldCup which was last October 2016, in Manchester.

Dan comes from London, England where he has various playing experience with professional academies, such as Arsenal, Charlton Athletic and more recently Chelsea FC, alongside a semi-professional career. Dan then moved to the U.S. to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Marketing. Through that period, he captained Division II school West Alabama his freshman and sophomore year, before transferring to Marymount California University, where he won the conference 2 years in a row and played in the National Tournament. Dan has recently assisted on the LA Harbor mens team, and also currently coaches the freshman team at Loyola High School.

Chris has vast experience through the development pyramid in US youth soccer from coaching AYSO All-Star development programs, to coaching multiple teams at Sand & Surf, as well as leading the Mira Costa High School JV boys and assisting with Marymount California University. Chris played full-time academy soccer in England, before playing part and full time semi-professional.

Coach Talita is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has played professional soccer in Japan for Hokkaido and in Iceland for Bolungarvik. Talita attended Franklin Pierce University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management.

Ben developed a deep passion for soccer over many years of playing and coaching. His playing career involved various youth teams in England, including representing Oxford United and Oxford City football clubs. This led to a semi-pro soccer career that lasted 15 years in England’s lower leagues, primarily representing clubs in Southern England. Ben began coaching 8 years ago for the Oxford United Youth Academy and also served as its head of education. He arrived in the U.S in 2015 and now also coaches at Windward High School in Mar Vista.
